The Forest Lighting UniV8 LED Lamp has been recognized by the Illumination Engineering Society (IES) in the 2016 Progress Report. The prestigious award singles out important new products that have the potential to improve the “art and science of lighting.”

The IES calls the Forest Lighting UniV8 Lamp “unique” and “significant”, recognizing that the UniV8 LED Lamp has the ability to be retrofitted with or without a ballast in a luminaire. It is available in 15W and 19W models, multiple color temperatures, and lasts 50,000 hours.

We recently attended both the NECA Show and the NALMCO Annual Meeting.
The Forest Lighting portfolio of LED products was on display last week at two major events for contractors, the NECA show in Boston and the NALMCO Annual Conference in Dallas.

With over 6000 electrical contractors attending, the NECA Show was an ideal opportunity to demonstrate how Forest Lighting LED lamps and luminaires are the best choice for both retrofit and new construction opportunities. Contractors visiting our booth gave us great feedback about our linear products, including the award-winning UniV8, and direct-wire T8s. We also had both our standard troffer and new flat-panel LED fixtures on display. A highlight for the entire NECA Show was Forest Lighting's Howard Wolfman's technical seminar on LED Retrofit "Best Practices". Forest Lighting is a founder-level sponsor of NECA's ELECTRI Foundation, which supports technology development and research that benefits both contractors and distributors.

At the annual NALMCO event, Forest Lighting management had a chance to spend time with some of the most influential lighting maintenance contractors in the USA. NALMCO members put their reputation on the line every day with the biggest commercial and retail brands around, and they are finding that Forest Lighting LEDs are providing the kind of light that their customers want, not to mention the energy-savings. Forest Lighting is a major sponsor at the NALMCO meeting, and serves on several association committees.

The National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors monthly training seminar in October was hosted by Forest Lighting's Howard Wolfman, who provided NAILD members with the latest information on best practices for LED retrofits. Professor Wolfman noted that 23% of a building's energy use is lighting, and the application of modern LED lighting and controls can cut electric bills by 50%.He also pointed out to the group that the Forest Lighting UniV8 T8 LED can save on inventory costs for distributors and contractors, and the company's new troffers and flat panel luminaires are now available with remote wireless dimming controls and emergency backup battery systems.
