The new building forms a new anchor to a half mile plaza and the main axis of the campus. In the foreground the jewel glass icon.In the background tall glass elevator towers are lit internally forming lanterns. Just before this dawn photograph a student feels that warmth returning to their dorm just to the right of the photo.

在玻璃盒子的前方,这栋新建的建筑为这方圆半英里的广场树立了一个新地标,同时也形成了一条校园的主轴线。在画面背景区域,那栋较高的玻璃立面塔楼主要通过内透光照明。在画面的右方,是学生的宿舍,学生们重新感受到了温暖的氛围。

The curved inside of the large classroom forms in intimate surround. Clean T-5 lamped 1x4 dimmable fluorescents do well getting light on the writing surface. Special wash lights (off in this image) make the white board pop. On the other end of the illumination spectrum low level fluorescent step lights keep students safe when presentations dim overhead lights.

这个大型教室的弧面墙形成了向心的聚拢感。采用4根一组的可调光T5荧光灯为下方工作面提供了基础照明。黑板前的洗墙灯(图中为关闭状态)提供了墙面照明。当进入演示状态并调暗顶部灯光时,低亮度的台阶灯为学生提供了通行的安全保障(见画面下方)。

Eyebrows off the building lift up being washed from below. Grass expanses remain planar with dots of light to orient pedestrians to the pathway. Light levels in these secondary pathways are intentionally kept low creating a visual hierarchy. Steps to upper levels are part of egress areas and bright due to code and mounting constraints.

建筑物的宽大挑檐通过下方的灯光洗亮。在玻璃飘窗下方安装了序列感的点光,指引行人来到二层通道。二层通道的亮度被刻意地压暗,来形成亮度的层次。向上的台阶是面向出口位置的一部分,亮度较高,因为受到编程和安装的限制。

Architecture uses planes and volumes – light should complement and elevate those.

Cantilever glass slabs float with linear light forming the outer edge.

Extending masses of the building are uplit from fluorescents within the landscape. Large step lights make the vehicle ramp to the left safe for all.

建筑师会运用平面与体块进行创作——而灯光应该完善并提升它们。

悬挑的玻璃面和线性光带一起形成了外部的轮廓。

延展的线性墙面通过隐藏在绿植里的荧光灯上照打亮。大功率台阶壁灯为左侧的机动车坡道提供安全照明。
